  A mole is a small, dark spot or growth on the skin caused by a cluster of pigmented skin cells called melanocytes. Moles can vary in colour, shape/size and they are generally harmless. Most people have moles, and they can appear anywhere on the body.  

 A skin tag is a small, soft, benign growth that hangs off the skin. It is usually flesh-coloured or slightly darker and is typically attached to the skin by a thin stalk called a peduncle. Skin tags are common and harmless but can sometimes become irritated if rubbed or caught on clothing or jewellery. 

 A sebaceous cyst is a slow-growing, non-cancerous lump under the skin caused by a blocked sebaceous gland. These cysts are filled with a soft, yellowish, oily material called keratin and are usually harmless, though they can sometimes become infected or inflamed. 

 A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of fatty tissue that forms a soft, rubbery lump beneath the skin. Lipomas grow slowly and are typically harmless, though they can occasionally cause discomfort if they press on nerves or tissues. 

 Seborrheic kersatoses are common, benign (non-cancerous) skin growths that often appear as people age. They are sometimes called “age spots” or “barnacles of aging.” These growths can vary in appearance but are generally harmless and do not require treatment unless they cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns.
